FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Answer: As a moral responsibility, when the complete healthcare system is facing a shortage of personal protective equipment, any elective healthcare procedure are being postponed to reduce the burden on the already overburdened healthcare system.
All responsible dental clinics, eye clinics and even hospitals in case of elective surgeries that also require complete protective equipment and protocols are postponing non-emergency procedures keeping in mind the above.
Things become a little more complex at a dental practice given the nature of treatments that are provided. Dental interventions include aerosol generation, handling of sharp instruments, and close proximity of the dentist to the patients’ mouth and throat region which is the key source of transmission of most infections and not just COVID-19.
We at Dent Ally are available for emergency treatments and are following stringent protocols to address and resolve the concerns of our patients.
As soon as the situation is expected to improve, we will start to plan elective treatments.
Answer: Tele-consults are being provided to minimize the number of visits that a patient makes to the dental practice. During a tele-consult, the specialist can tentatively determine the treatment that would be needed to resolve the concern and hence once the patient is ready to undergo treatment, he/she can directly visit the practice for treatment.
This helps both the patient and the practice in the following ways:
Given the new protocols that are being suggested by CDC, ADA etc, treatment chambers should be ready for treatment in advance to minimize the number of contact points while the treatment is being done. A tele-consult will enable the practice to ensure the treatment chambers are ready in advance.
Tele-consult minimize the number of visits that a patient would need to make to the practice, thereby reduce risk of exposure
Tele-consults provide visibility to the patient regarding the treatment that will be needed and associated costs, thus, patient can be in a better position to make a decision without even visiting the clinic and getting exposed.
Answer: The charges for tele-consult are INR 500. These charges include the consultation charges for an in-clinic appointment at our practice. Thus, once you have paid for tele-consult, you would not need to pay again for an in-clinic consultation.
Answer: Tele-consults are a great way to connect with your doctor and get a view into what treatment would you need without even stepping outside the comfort of your house and exposing yourself to any infection risk. This also helps the specialist understand your needs, current health conditions and be better prepared for your treatment once you visit the practice.

Answer: Please find below the process that would be followed:
Receive a form via whatsapp in which details about your name, age, medical conditions etc. have to be filled by you.
Share a photo/video of your affected area to enable the specialist understand your problem better
Receive details for making digital payments
Connect you to the specialist during the next available slot (Mostly calls are being arranged latest in 1-1.5 hours)
Usually the tele-consult slot is for 15 minutes, however can be made available for maximum 30 minutes if required at no additional costs. (As per our experience, this much time is more than sufficient to address all queries as most of the details have already been shared following the above process)
Receive a prescription and instructions that need to be followed post the call (if needed)
Plan an in-clinic appointment as per the need
Receive tentative details regarding treatment costs
Receive precautions that need to be followed before visiting the clinic for the appointment
Receive details of safety guidelines that will be followed for your in-clinic visit
Answer: For dental treatments, it is extremely difficult to determine the definitive treatment cost without doing a complete oral examination (which is done in person). It is during the tele-consult once the specialist has seen your condition via a photo/ video and spoken to you regarding your medical and dental history, will he/she be able to determine tentatively the treatment that you might need and accordingly will be in a position to share tentative costs. Please note that these costs should not be treated as final cost, as the final cost may be less or more depending upon the actual treatment done.
Answer: While before COVID 19 pandemic, a walk in appointment could be acceptable. But now, no clinic which is following the right safety guidelines to protect you and their staff and community should not take any walk-ins or direct in-clinic consult. This is being done to protect you and your loved ones from unnecessary exposure. Wherever possible, social distancing is being respected and followed, thus, tele-consultation is being provided to address your concerns and answer your questions regarding the treatment. Post the tele-consult, once the treatment need is determined, an in-clinic appointment can be scheduled keeping in mind all the safety protocols. These safety protocols are critical in ensuring the safety of you and your loved ones.
